Deleting your account and data
This page explains how to request deletion of your WMIEC account and what follows from it. It applies to the website and to the WMIEC mobile app (sa.com.wmiec.app), and you do not need to sign in to read it.

01In short
You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time, from inside the app or the website, or by email if you have lost access to your account. A person on the privacy team reviews the request — not an automated system — and you are always told the outcome.
You do not have to give a reason, and we do not ask for one.
02Option one: from inside your account
This is the fastest route, and it works the same way in the mobile app and on the website:
- 1 — Sign in, then open «My account».
- 2 — Open «Settings», then the privacy section.
- 3 — Choose «Your data requests».
- 4 — Press «Request account deletion», read what is erased and what is kept, then confirm.
- 5 — You receive a reference number, and follow the request from that same screen until it completes.
03Option two: by email
If you have lost access to your account, write to us from the email address registered on it, at info@wmiec.com.sa, with «Account deletion request» as the subject. We verify your identity before acting — that check protects you, since it is what stops somebody else deleting your account.
04What is deleted
- Your name, email address, phone number, password and all of your profile details, including your photograph.
- Your sessions are ended on every device you signed in from.
- Notifications stop and your device token is removed, so nothing reaches you afterwards.
- Your digital badge is revoked and no longer works for entry.
05What is kept, and why
Some records are not deleted, and we say so plainly rather than promise a complete erasure we could not honour:
- Your event registrations, attendance records and any stand bookings — they remain as operational records of events that actually took place, and they no longer carry your name.
- Your consent record and the audit log — they remain because they are the evidence that your data was handled lawfully. Deleting them would erase the proof that protects you, not the proof that protects us.
- Records a law in force requires us to keep, such as accounting records. Those are held for the period the law sets and then destroyed.
06Timing
We aim to decide every request within thirty days of receiving it. Where a justified reason means we need longer, we tell you that and why before the period is out.
A request may be refused where the law requires records to be kept. The reason is always stated; no request is refused in silence.
Deletion cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your data, ask for the export first from the same screen, and wait for the archive before you request deletion.
